The Stand Up to Cancer Trek

SU2C Trek Goals

Today alone, 4,828 people in the United States will be diagnosed with cancer. There are very few people who have not been impacted by cancer in some way. Perhaps cancer has impacted you or someone close to you physically, mentally, emotionally, financially, or spiritually. You could be a cancer patient or survivor, a caregiver, a friend or family member.

As a part of our ‘Making Giving Reality’ campaign, join Vision Technologies, Inc. as we take the days of public thanksgiving and prayer traditions a step further with our very first Trek for Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C).

Become a sponsor and help us meet our goal of $18,000 as we sponsor a trek of 50 miles through Washington County and mobilize our teammates across the country to raise money for their own treks as we Stand Up to Cancer together.

The ability of scientists to deliver the newest therapies to patients is a critical component of successful research. Through SU2C, scientists receive significant funding that allows them to remain laser-focused on new therapies and cancer-fighting strategies.

The Inside Trek: Supporting SU2C

Demian SeeleyHow many steps you might ask?  Throughout this week our 500+ teammates from around the country are walking/hiking/running for SU2C, along with our friends and family and customers and business partners.  And on November 23rd, our very own executive, Demian Seeley, will be trekking 50 miles in the 57th Annual JFK 50 Mile Memorial.

The JFK 50 Mile is a America's oldest ultramarathon that takes place annually in Washington County, Maryland, United States. The first race was held on 30 March 1963. The race starts in the town of Boonsboro, Maryland, and heads east out of town toward the South Mountain Inn. The first 2.3 miles are on a hardball road, which leads to the Appalachian Trail. The Appalachian Trail leg is approximately 13 miles. The trail then continues on the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal for 26.3 miles, following the canal to Dam #4 on the Potomac River. The final leg of the Race follows 8.4 miles of hardball roads to Williamsport, Maryland as dusk settles in at the end of the day. Check out the course map.

While Demian is the only one running the JFK 50, the rest of us are supporting the cause by sponsoring him and mobilizing our teammates across the country to raise money for their own treks as we Stand Up to Cancer together. Whether you wish to trek with us or participate as a silent donor, please join us as we remain steadfast in our commitment to the SU2C mission.
