GLEN BURNIE, MD, February 16, 2018 – Vision Technologies, Inc. (Vision), a leading systems integrator is pleased to announce its certified cabling professionals placed in all three levels (Installer I, Installer II and Technician) during the 2018 BICSI Cabling Challenge held in Orlando, Florida. Congratulations to Jeremy Vittitow, Scott Miller, and Derrick Riley for their dedication and effort in the competition.
BICSI is the worldwide association for cabling design and installation professionals. The annual BICSI competition consists of 8 monitored events that need to be completed within a specified timeframe. These events include a written test, troubleshooting, fiber and copper terminations, tester and testing applications, technical speed tasks, attention to details, and following defined task instructions. The resounding message from the Vision team, several of the BICSI judges and participants from other companies was that this year’s competition was much more difficult than the previous competitions as BICSI changed processes and requirements.
Manager of ITS Operations Dan Hays remarked, “As Vision has been an active participant in this event since the first one in 2008, our ITS Operations personnel has consistently performed very well. Once again, Team Vision was very successful in this year’s event. Team Vision placed in each BICSI three-level category.”
Installer I Level: Derrick Riley – 3rd Place
(This was Derrick’s first time participating.)
Installer II Level: Scott Miller – 1st Place
(This was Scott’s first time participating.)
Technician Level: Jeremy Vittitow – 2nd Place
(In addition to 2nd place at the technician level, Jeremy finished 2nd place in the overall competition. The winner of last year’s event repeated this year.)
