Building Out Telecom and AV Systems for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)

In an effort to increase operational efficiency, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) partnered with Vision Technologies to perform a comprehensive telecom, public address, and audio-visual system buildout at their White Flint North facility, which encompasses 14 stories and 320,000 square feet of unclassified, classified and SCIF area office space.

The resulting AV installation involved the buildout and/or upgrade of over 40 different rooms of mixed use, as well as the installation of the public-address system. The telecom solution was based on CommScope Uniprise infrastructure, and included the installation of over 7,600 Category-6A workstation cables, 6,300 pairs of voice-grade backbone UTP, and 408 strands of OM3 backbone optical fiber for data.
